Beauté Spécialé: Part III: Beauté Spécialé’s Favorite Make-up Products of the Season

This is the third and final part of our blog series. So far we’ve shared with you our favorite body, hair and skin products to use during the winter. In today’s blog we’re going to be talking about another key element: Color! Colors warm up our features and bring us some warmth during the cooler weather. We’ve tried many beauty products and we’ve narrowed it down to a few that have earned our kiss of approval. Try some of these and let us know what you think!

#1: Tom Ford Cosmetics Red Lipstick: We have blogged before about how much we love Tom Ford Cosmetics and now we love them even more with this new color for the winter called Cherry Lush. It’s festive for any event and the perfect shade of red. This lipstick has hints of pink, the formula is hydrating and leaves the lips moist and goes opaque on the lips. It is long lasting and does not bleed. Some of the products used to formulate this product are soja seed extract, Brazilian murumuru butter and chamomile flower oil. It is very creamy and goes on smooth.

#2: Chanel Illusion D’ombre Long Wearing Lumious Eye shadow: It is a long wearing luminous eye shadow it has a gel texture and goes on soft and supple. You can use it as a shadow or eye liner. A shadow / liner brush comes with this to help you apply this product precisely.

#3: Perfect nail shade for winter, dark chocolate polish by Essie called Lady Godiva: With it’s award winning no chip formula, you cannot go wrong with this product! It is also long lasting and provides a flawless coverage.

#4: La Prairie Cream Blush in Plum Glow: This cream blush gives your cheek bones a radiant flush. These cream blushes give the skin a luminous glow and is moisturizing to the skin is non drying and is long lasting. It is nutrient rich and is filled La Prairie’s anti aging treatment benefits to improve the texture of your skin.

#5: Ko Gen Do Aqua Foundation Illuminator: This liquid foundation gives your skin a transparent luminosity and has light diffusing capabilities. The pores on your face are minimized and vibrancy on your face is restored. This foundation balances the ions on the surface of your skin with rich minerals and nutrients. It has a translucent finish with enough coverage.

#6: Guerlain Terracota Bronzing Powder: This compact bronzer has tiny flecks of gold, peach and a hint of rose swirled together in a powder. The bronzer gives a nice beach glow and does not look muddy on fair complexions. Long lasting and has a moisturizing formula.

#7: Nars The Multiple: This multi purpose cream stick is made to be used as an all over radiance to give you a luminous healthy glow any where you want it. It is a sheer cream to powder and blends effortlessly. It is for all skin tones, Just dot it along the cheekbones, brow line, eye lids, lips and body.

#8: La Mer The Radiant Concealer: It is a treatment concealer that optically corrects dark circles and blemishes and creates a natural flawless finish. comes in light, medium and dark and has a 25 SPF. It is long lasting and creamy and does not settle into lines and has great coverage!

The skin on our face is thinner than most of the skin on our body. #8: Dove Sensitive Moisturizing Body Wash

#9: Neutrogena Norwegian Formula Foot Cream

It is a very rich cream formulated with a touch of glycerin. The amazing cream tackles calluses and softens heels.

Photo Shoot with Miss Latin International USA 2011, Fabiola Pagan

We at Beaute Speciale try to find beauty and inspiration in everything we see and do. One of the things that we do to keep our team motivated is do beauty workshops from time to time. In this particular workshop we were trying to recreate a romantic editorial scenario. We found the perfect colors in a room that we wanted to use, the perfect model, had some extra props lying around and we even had our own professional lights for lighting. Everyone comes together for input and ideas and we are always in search of items that we pick up here and there that we can use in future photo shoots. This is the first batch from this shoot that we are posting. This shoot came out so beautiful that a magazine loved our photos as much as we did that they offered to run them in their February magazine for a full page spread! I hope everyone enjoys these photos as much as we enjoyed doing our shoot.

The Fashion & Makeup Behind the Heather Marks Cover Shoot

One our Disney friends, Michelle Smits, posted this link on her Facebook page. It’s for the December 30, 2011 fashion shoot for Elle France.

We loved it so much that we did some digging around to see what some of the other garments and makeup was used for Canada’s Top Model, Heather Marks. The clothes were a mixture of Fall – Winter 2011-12 and Cruise 2012. Some of the other garments that were not listed on this article that were styled by wardrobe stylist Elise Cannelle Castelbou were from Valentino, Givenchy Haute Couture, Carven, Isabel Marant, Louis Vuitton, Dior , Miu Miu, Spidi, and Dolce & Gabana to name a few more.

We also found out that the makeup artist was Givenchy artist Tiina Roivainen. Some of the products she used on Heather were:

Givenchy Soin Noir face cream which retails for $360!! It is a rich black cream because it contains black algae sap concentrate. This cream claims to rebuild cells using the black molecule that is in it.

The foundation was Givenchy Eclat Matissime Mat Beige Foundation: It is an airy light fluid with a radiant mattness, it has amazing texture and a lumious glowy finish and it also contains an SPF of 20.

Her mascara was Givenchy Eyes Effect Extensions. This mascara creates a beautiful fanned out panoramic effect. It also is designed to hold the curve of your eyelashes in place.

The eyeshadows were Givenchy L’hombre Noir Eyeshadow. These shadows have a lot of pigmentation and coverage, it also has deep color payoff. This particular shadow can be used wet or dry.

Her nail polish was Givenchy Vernis Please! in Noir Celeste. It was a limited edition holiday color for 2011. The color is a glimmering black shade that has varying shades of mother of pearl.

Two lipsticks were used on her. One of them was Givenchy Rouge Interdit Satin Lipstick in Elegant Rouge. This was the darker color. This type of lipstick has a very smooth texture and is long wearing. It also contains light reflective color that nourishes and hydrates lips and it contains antioxidants.

The lighter colored lipstick Givenchy Rouge Interdit 01 in Only Beige. It is a tawny colored shade with a hint of pink. This also has a great texture is very creamy and has long staying power.

Beating the winter blahs with COLOR!

We’ve been looking around for some bright and bold colors to brighten our winter “blah” look and we came across these gorgeous lipstick colors from MAC. They are MAC Mattene colors and retail at $14.50 for a .08 oz. tube. The three colors we tried and loved were:

Potent Fig – It’s a deep, blue based grape color that has a very slightly glossy finish. Since it has shine in it, we recommend that you use a lip liner with this particular color. Two lip liners that we tried it with were Grape from Mac Pro and Currant. Using lip liner with this lipstick helped it to look more finished and the color looked more even on our lips. It also didn’t crease or or streak throughout the day.

The second color from the MAC Mattenes that we really liked was Rare Exotic. It’s a bright fuschia color lipstick. It’s a little longer lasting than the Potent Fig and easy to apply. A lip liner is not necessary with this color, but you could use one if you really wanted to.

The third lipstick that we really liked from the MAC Mattenes was Fresh Amour. It is a light pink/lavendar color with a semi matte finish and an opaque color coverage.

These bright, beautiful colors have our “kiss” of approval!

Valentine’s Day Make-up

Here’s some inspiration for a beautiful Valentine’s Day make-up look. The colors are vibrant and show stopping… we are loving this look from Illamasqua! It’s part of their “Throb” collection.

The colors of this collection are a perfect palette for Valentine’s day for anyone who loves seductive looking lips and brave enough to wear bold, dark colors on their nails. In this new collection, our favorite lipstick called “Sangers” is the perfect shade of blood red and if it is used with their gloss “Succubus” (also from this collection), it will make your mouth “femnme fatale” – very seductive and elegant. It’s the perfect color of the moment, especially for a romantic night out.

Our favorite nail polish from the Throb collection is of course, “Throb”. It is a passionate red color that looks almost like blood. It’s actually a beautiful red and it looks amazing when worn in combination with the Sangers lipstick. It’s a perfect match! ”Scorn and Load” are the other new colors of this collection and look great when worn together as a french manicure with a new twist.

Beauté Spécialé Cosmetic Line is on it’s way!

Fan’s and followers it is official!!! Beauté Spécialé is coming out with it’s own cosmetic line! The long awaited line will be here soon! It’s been a journey, to be exact its been almost 7 years that we’ve been working on bringing our line to life. After much mixing concoctions with our chemist, we finally got our first lip gloss formula from scratch to the consistency and feeling we wanted..

We’re so excited we can’t contain ourselves.. it’s actually happening and below are the images of just that… the lip gloss containers. We received images from the factory of the sample tubes this week!

If you guys are interested in seeing what color will come out first in the cosmetic line, we used our first lip gloss color Audra in our last post New Year, New You! Kim Kardashian.
