In China, where skin bleaching creams are the norm and lighter skin is considered pretty and fashionable and a higher class, they go to the full extreme in shielding their faces from sun exposure. Dark skin in certain Asian countries are associated with peasants and city dwellers are willing to go to great lengths to avoid their skin from getting dark or sunburned. They call this the “Face-kini” where it’s all the rage on their beaches. This face mask has holes for the eyes, nose and mouth and is a new form of SPF. The cost for these “Face-kinis” range from $2.50 to $4.00. It’s always interesting to learn what other cultures do for beauty.
